4th of July Celebration

July 4

Join us at our patriotic lawn party as Augusta’s Fourth of July parade marches past the First Amendment Museum at the Gannett House, at 184 State Street. We’ll have craft tables for the kids, lawn games, popcorn and water to keep visitors fed and hydrated. Won’t you join the fun and volunteer?

This year’s parade theme is “Augusta’s Hometown Heros”. We will be honoring Anne Macomber Gannett with a new exhibit which will be on display on our lawn at the 4th of July party for her role in achieving the vote for women. Suffragists used all 5 of their First Amendment Freedoms to secure the vote!
